Maoming Branch of Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Co., LTD., Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Co., LTD., collectively known as Maoming Petrochemical, was founded in May 1955. Maoming Petrochemical is one of the 156 key projects during the First Five-Year Plan period of New China. Maoming Petrochemical started with the exploitation of oil shale and the processing of "artificial petroleum".
